Nell is the wife of the late Robert Johnston, loving mother to the late April Hall, daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Hall, sister to the late Wendy Steede, and aunt to Robert Steede [Kalreta], the late Julian, Charles and Granville Steede, Linda DeGrilla [Bruce] and Dorothy [Dot] Lightbourne. Great nephews Julian Trott [Racquel], Antonio Steede, Nhoj-Trebor Steede, Bruce DeGrilla, and Kjeld Conyers-Steede, great nieces Julanda Lodge, Lauren Ming [Sontoi], Letasha Tucker [Dexter], Chardonnae Douglas, Naomi Lightbourne, Japhia Lightbourne, and Anah Lightbourne. Sister-in-laws Grace Aubrey, Valerie Johnston and Brenda Johnston. Special friends Eric Martin and family, Roland Simons, Steven Burgess, and other family and friends too numerous to mention.

Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at The Hamilton Seventh-Day-Adventist Church on Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 12:00pm to 12:50 pm.

Lovingly survived by grandchildren: Alex, Zackary and Skyah; great-grandchildren: Teo, Zaely and Cassidy; brothers-in-law: David and Nelson Fox; special nieces: Cherrie Williams and Carol Walker; others too numerous too mention; special nephews: Phillip Walker, Ted Breary and many others.

It is with great sadness that the family of Desing Bentley Johnson [DJ] announce his passing on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, in California, U.S.A.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 26, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 24901 Orchard Village Road, Santa Clarita, California 91355, U.S.A.

Desing was predeceased by his parents William and Patricia Helen Minta Johnson [nee Burgess] of Plainfield, New Jersey and later Virginia Beach, Virginia U.S.A.

Desing leaves to cherish his memory his four children, Paulina, Chinyelu, Chinonso and Chike Johnson and their mother Ogochukwu ‘Ogo’ [California] and her family; his brother and sister –in-law, Curtis- Lee and Stephanie Johnson and their children, Isis and Keturah [Florida]. Desing was predeceased by his nephew Joshua Johnson.

Desing’s mother , Patricia , was daughter of Thomas and Inez Burgess [nee Smith] and sister of Thurston Smith [Marguerite], Diana Saltus [Ambrose], Desing and Bentley Burgess, who were born and raised in the Devil’s hole area of Smith’s Parish and have all predeceased him.

In addition to ‘Ogo’ and his children, Desing leaves to cherish his memory his Bermuda family :-

Cousins Maxine Hunt [Quillian], Elizabeth Stevens [Clifford] and their families; Gail, Patrick, Glenn and Sean Burgess and Linda Mienzer, as well as the extended Burgess and Smith families. He also leaves his god-sisters, Pamela [Martin] Brice, Ethlyn Duncan, Creavery Smith and Dr. Sonia Paynter

A funeral service for Frederick Edward Winslow “Scaley” Williams, loving husband to Mrs. Carolyn Young-Williams and loving father to Larry Mussenden, Shelda [David], Winslow, Paul, Kirk, Cathy [Steven], Na’imah [Dennis], Lloyd, Randolph [Terrilyn], Dwayne, John, Karen and Dean [deceased] in his 83rd year of 2 White Hill View, Sandys will be held at St. James Church, Sandys Today, 26 March 2022 at 2:00pm.

The service will be live-streamed at the link “winslowwilliams.startime.tv”.

Interment will be at St. James’s Church Cemetery, Sandys.

Winslow/Scaley is survived by his siblings Cynthia Hilton, Marita [Roland] Francis, Russell [Sandra] Williams, Glennis Greenhouse, Dianne Triplett, Lorraine Williams, Naomi [Milton] Bean and Randolf [Jamie] Williams, grandchildren Tariq, Khalif, Jameelah, Alyiah, Madinah, Azizah, Isaiah, Lailah, Amani, Kayla, Cashon, great grand-child Lahn, and many other loved nieces and nephews, family members, special friends, work colleagues and associates.

Viewing will be held at Augustus Funeral Home on Friday, 25 March 2022 from 6:30pm to 8pm and at St. James Church Hall, Somerset on Saturday 26 March 2022 from 1:00pm to 1:45pm.

For the viewings, Covid-19 precautions are to be observed. Masks and hand sanitation will be required and social distancing observed.

Colors may be worn. Green was Scaley’s favorite colour along with the red and blue of Somerset.

The Family extend their thanks to PALS and the Oncology and Emergency Departments of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PALS.

Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of Mrs. Maude Gwendolyn Louthilda Bassett [nee Douglas] in her 103rd year. Former teacher in both the U.K. and Bermuda’s public schools. Daughter of the late Mr. Henry and Mrs. Mary Douglas. She was pre- deceased by her husband Arnold, two sons, Barrington and Howard Bassett and all of her eight siblings and in-laws. Maude leaves to mourn her daughter-in-law, Sharon Bassett, three grandchildren, Syronda Bassett [USA], and Marico and Tavin Bassett. One great-grandson, Curron Anderson. In addition, she also leaves to mourn may nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews, both here in Bermuda and in the U.S.A.

Funeral arrangements are being planned for Tuesday, 29th March, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Southampton, Seventh day Adventist Church.

​​​​​Interment will be at St. James Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at The Southampton, Seventh day Adventist Church on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 12:00pm to 12:55pm.

Survived by her children William Jr. [Lorrie], Charles [Tissa dec.] and Winifred [Ian], grandchild Denise, Rebecca [Joseph], Jason [Ashley], Carlie [Andy] and Liam, great grandchildren Jesse, Eva and Savannah.  Peggy will be lovingly remembered by numerous family and friends. 

A graveside service will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Trinity Church Road, Hamilton Parish at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday 29th March 2022. Colors may be worn. There will be no viewing.

A special thank you to the nurses at Westmeath Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Peggy’s name to Westmeath Nursing Care Home at HSBC # 010-449155-001.

We regret to announce the passing of  William Leonard [Doc] Hayward, commonly know as Leonard, son of the late Elsie Hayward, loving father of Lita Saltus [Bray], Lavon Hayward [Tricia] and Lynisha Hayward; grandfather of Chaundre Burgess,  Jahni Hayward, Jayla and Mikayla Hayward, Kasyi Doars, Mathais Bean and Dakota Hayward;  great-grandfather of Jaela Simmons, in his 72nd year, of 14  Fairvale Lane, Warwick.  Long term Retired Fireman.  Leonard leaves to cherish his memory:  brother: Hilton Hayward; sisters: Lois Jones, Dorothy Williams [Webster], Violet Hayward, Carolyn Hollis, Martha Bean and Pearlene Place;  special cousins: Corliss Smith and Roslyn Simmons; lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.  Leonard was predeceased by brothers: Andrew [Leroy], Eugene, Cecil and Vorhees Hayward; sister: Phyllis Blyden.  Special thanks to KEMH and Agape House doctors, nurses and nurses aids.

A funeral service for Mr. Phillip John Talbot of 29 Mission Rd, Paget, previously of Stroud, England, beloved husband of Lori Talbot, son of the late Terrance and the late June Talbot, brother of the late Kevin Talbot in his 64th year will be held at Astwood Park, Warwick on Wednesday, March 30th, 2022 at 3.00 pm.

A celebration of his life will follow the service at the same location.

He will be lovingly missed by his daughters, Nicola Lever [Chris] and Samantha Hillier [James], grandchildren, Mason Lever, Bailey Lever and Cooper Hillier.

Siblings: Jacque Talbot [Chris], Richard Talbot [Tizz], Heather Talbot [Martin], Mike Talbot [Heather] and Gemma Jones [Jock].

Sisters in law: Lynne James [Paul], Becky Ricciardi [Brian],  Christine Hind [Michael]; Brother in law Darrell Freeman [Linda]; best mate Gerald Smith, also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives, friends and colleagues.

The family asks that there be no visitation at the family home after the service.
