Brother-in-laws Gerald Botelho [Joan], Arnold Botelho [Lucy] and nephew Andrew Botelho & family, in his 75th year, of 150 Middle Road, Southampton.

Special ‘daughters’, Paula Binikos, Christina DiMare, Chrystal Lavallee, Cherri Pacheco & Margaret Phillips. Special ‘son’ Dennis Seymour. Special friends Marcia Martin, Charlene Caton, Bob & Sherry Scholz & Michael Ponte.

G. Eloise Bell, RN. September 3, 1946 – November 22, 2021.

 

We regret to announce the passing of Eloise [Minors] Bell, of “Parmi”, 5 Foothills Road, Devonshire. 

Eloise Bell: Mama, Nana, sister, cousin, colleague, friend. passed peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, in Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. 

Eloise was the second child in the marriage of the late Arnold [Plus, Chum] and Gertrude [Gertie] Minors, loving mother to Lakeisha and grandmother to Jiyai, loved by her brothers, Arnold and Irving Minors. 

Lovingly remembered by: Irving’s sons, Kai and Dorian. Many cousins, especially Rosemarie Crichlow, Ruby Cain, Thomas Simmons. Partner, George Hazel, Berkeley Institute Class of ‘63, especially Bobby Horton, Connie McHardy, Conchita Ming, Gerald Simons, Janette Musson, Muriel Roach, Philip Butterfield, Truman Tuzo. KEMH and other health care colleagues, especially Angela Marini, Audrey Cranage, Connie Richards, June Hill, Lee Kerr, Malcolm Brock, Sue Wales, Wilbert Warner. Many dear friends, especially Cheryl Holmes, Dawn Millett, Denyse Allen, Dorothy Layne, Emilita Johnson, Lornajean Bulford. 

Eloise will also be forever remembered by relatives and her many dear friends and colleagues we have not named. It is not our intent to exclude anyone from a list Eloise might have created herself. We apologize for any such omissions.

Arnold, Irving, Lakeisha and Jiyai hope that Eloise’s fierce passion for doing the right thing will be a continuing inspiration to all, and especially those of us who knew her. It was that passion that led to fulfilling one of her biggest dreams: launch and operation of Bermuda Air Medivac, a Bermudian-owned air ambulance service. 

Eloise has been cremated. Leon Amis and Eloise were good friends. When Leon learned of Eloise’s passing, he immediately offered to help in any way he could. Arnold, Irving and Lakeisha are grateful for his offer and his compassion. There will be an announcement later with details of a service [live and virtual] to celebrate Eloise’s life.

We regret to announce the passing of Carla Lee Kristine Fountain nee Wirt of Smiths Parish. Born October 14, 1937 in New York City and raised in Bermuda. She worked many years at Pemboss and Associates in Hamilton where she learned her love of travel. She traveled the world with life long partner Richard Elsom who predeceased her. Carla was always surrounded by the love of her dogs Snowy and Sunshine. She was the beloved daughter of Zola and Carl Wirt. Carla was blessed with many friends around the world especially in Bermuda. To name a few Gloria Prescott, Rosemary Cave, Jaine Flanagan and her dear friend Shirley Wainwright who predeceased her earlier this year. Carla is survived by her nephew Chuck Van Buskirk and family as well as her godson Mark Cave. A graveside service and celebration of her life will take place in early 2022.
