Winifred “Winnie” Louise Smith

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Winifred “Winnie” Louise Smith in her 106th year, daughter of the late Willoughby Ashton Smith and Edna Amanda Smith [nee Hayward]. Winnie is survived by daughter Thelma Wynn, granddaughters Corlette Schuler and Kathy Lipp [Gerhard], great-granddaughter Casey Schuler, and brother Alvin Smith.

Winnie was pre-deceased by son Rowyn Webster Smith, siblings Howard Hayward, Wilfred Smith, Geraldine Trott, Cora Burchall, George, Henry “Beardy”, and Allard Smith, nieces Suzette [Smith] Wales and Pearline Smith, nephew Lawrence “Texas” Smith, son-in-law Bryan “Silver” Fox, and grandson-in-law Christopher Schuler.

Winnie leaves behind nieces and nephews Calvin “Bluie,” James “Sefus,” Paulette, and Karen Smith, Antoinette Parfitt, Bernadette and Corey Smith, Sybil Fraser, Natalie Degraff, Roseanne Carey, and Joseph Hayward, as well as numerous great- and great-great- nieces and nephews.

Winnie will be lovingly remembered by her many Bingo friends from the local community clubs. She will be missed by her neighbor Charles “Bobsy” Robinson [Nesta] and family, as well as all neighbors and friends of Claytown.

A special thank you to Westmeath Residential & Nursing Care Home staff for their kind and caring service.

Family and friends may pay their respects at Crawl Gospel Hall Church on Saturday, March 25th at 2pm. Internment at Holy Trinity Church will follow the service. Bright colors are encouraged. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to Westmeath fund at HSBC 010-449155-001.

We regret to announce the death of Mrs. Carolyn Ingham Boatman [nee Hooper], beloved wife of Ian Boatman. She died on 19th March in King Edward Memorial Hospital, Paget, where she was born 85 years ago.

Carolyn is the mother of three children: Mrs. Kelly Higgins of Hertfordshire, England; Mrs. Dale Ingram of London, England; and the late Alan Boatman, the husband of Mrs. Mette Boatman. Thanks to them, Carolyn is the grandmother of Tim, Oliver, Chloe, Luke and Maya.

Lovingly survived by grandchildren: Iesha Warren [Brian], Tawana, Temiko [Taria] and Trevor Flood; Latoya Robinson, Schiekelle Collu [Wayne], Timae Flood, Kari Tuzo, Terita, Tyrone Jr. [Emily], Troy [Kimberley], Timory, Tyson and Theon [Amarah] Flood and Christopher Douglas and 24 great-grandchildren.  God-daughter: Cammie Simmons;  Lovina was predeceased by her siblings: Blossom Talbot, Cleo, Gary, Beutin, Cicely and Gladys Bailey.  Special Friends: Delores Darrell, Mary Trott, Eugene and Joy Creighton, Linda Salaam, Lucille Woolridgeand Cheri Bean.  Lovina is also survived by immediate and extended family and friends in Bermuda, Antigua, US, UK and Canada, too numerous to mention.

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Mrs. Sheelah Veronica Hassell, beloved wife of Hugh Richard [Louie] Hassell, of 13 East Shore Lane, Sandys, in her 80th year.

She was a cherished mother and survived by her son, Gary [Maria] Ray and daughter Melanie [Hildeberto] Sousa; grandchildren: Ethan, Brianna, Cierra and Isabella. Also survived by her brother Peddy [Clara] Johnson of Saba, and her sisters Frances Hassell and Olive Johnson of Saba; sisters-in-law Eleanor Correia, Mary Stiles of USA and Loretta Hassell; brother-in-law Basil Hassell, plus nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.

Special thanks to Dr. H. Murray and Dr. S. Alikhani, PALS nurse Kathy Fox and caregivers Tisha Smith, Lisa and Natalie; also, the St. Joseph’s Church family.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 45 Somerset Road, Sandys MA 02, on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in St. Jospeh’s Cemetery. There will be no viewing. The Rosary will be said at the church at 12:30pm.

A service celebrating the life of Howard Granville Crockwell, beloved husband of Juanita Crockwell and devoted father of Mark and Juanae Crockwell and the late Shawn Crockwell, in his 83rd year of 27 Seymour Farm Road, Southampton, will be held at Southampton Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 228 Middle Road, Southampton on Wednesday April 5th at 2:00pm, with interment to follow at the Seventh-Day Adventist Cemetery, Secretary Road, St. George’s. 

Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday April 4th from 6:30pm-8:00pm at Augustus and Sons Funeral Home, 5 Elliott Street, Hamilton.

Also surviving are grandchildren: Curtis Hill, Selita Daniels [Trent], Shauntino Simons [Priya], Chelsea Crockwell, Maya Crockwell, Skyler Crockwell, Micah Baker and Michal Baker; great-grandchildren Sedae Daniels, Damien Daniels, Anaya Simons and William Crockwell; siblings: Harrison, Adrian and Matie Crockwell. 

Howard was also predeceased by parents: Edgar and Cecily Crockwell [nee Bascome], foster mother: Dorothy Todd; siblings: Patsy Crockwell, Violet Wilson, Calvin “Sonny” Crockwell, Custerfield “Custy” Crockwell, Verona Outerbridge and Ilys Darrell. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lady Cubitt Compassionate Association [L.C.C.A.] at lcca.bm.
